Poporo Dinner & New Years Eve!!!

Okay, before I go onto my New Years Eve recount, I just wanted to blog about the day I had dinner in the city at Poporo =D and some of the stuff I ate. It was a pretty good deal. $12.50 for a bowl of ramen plus unagi with rice.

Yes...please excuse the badly drawn eyes, But the egg reminded me of that Egg Song...

The Unagi was delicious. As usual. Except some bone particles got stuck in my throat :(

But yes, that was my dinner at Poporo. Matt ordered the exact same thing except he didn't get the Unagi. He got chicken teriyaki.Oh yeah and I bumped into Cinney at Market City :D It was a very surprising encounter. Totally didn't expect it :)

And this over-friendly Korean guy who was at the entrance of China Town...
And now...

NEW YEARS 2010/2011

A lot of things happened when we went to watch the Fireworks. Linda got us tickets into a restricted area and we were really, really grateful :D But even so, the place was really crowded and we had to sit on the floor. None of us brought picnic blankets or anything either...so I had to go to the convenience store to get plastic bags xD They came in handy throughout the night for many, many different reasons.

Highlights of the evening:

~ Dining at Pepper Lunch (filling my whole bowl with sweet sauce..) and discussing the chinese phrase "If you don't finish all the grains of rice in your bowl....you'll grow stuff on your face". Nicole gave us an interesting variation of this phrase. "If you don't finish all the grains of rice in your bowl, you'll marry someone with stuff growing on his face". Honestly, we spent minutes discussing which is worse xD

Nicole and Linda :D

~ Passing the 89 Degrees cake shop and debating whether we should bring cakes to the restricted area with us. We didn't know if we're allowed to bring food so Annie and Nicole came up with the idea that if we're not allowed to, then we eat the cake on the spot xD In the end, we didn't buy any cake.

~ None of us brought picnic blankets to sit on so we had to sit on plastic bags (like hobos). Throughout the night we just ate food on our plastic bags...Linda even brought a roll of toilet paper for us to use as tissue LOL

We see Queenie's toes in this image LOL

~ I went shopping for Pringles at the convenience shop and bought this EXTREME flavour. I didn't actually know what flavour it was but it said EXTREME so I thought it would be good. In the end, it turned out to be Pickle flavoured xD We then had lots of fun combining cheese flavoured pringles/original flavoured/sour cream with it to form = MacDonalds Pringles.

~ Queenie chugging Mount Franklin Water like a pro XD

~  Queenie, Nicole and I had high heels on and we all had blisters on our feet (despite the bandaids we applied). So I came up with an intelligent idea of using plastic bags as our temporary form of footwear, using an elastic band to secure it on our feet. LOL.

~ We played the sex game. It's actually got nothing to do with sex. It's a card game (a non-violent version of snap) where each player picks a name for him/herself. The name has to follow a certain theme (e.g. teacher names/car brands). Each player then receives a bunch of cards (face down) and we all flip the cards over one by one until someone has the same cards as another. Then, whoever calls the other person's name wins and the loser gets all the cards. First one to finish wins.

In the first game, I lost because I chose Ferrari (Really easy to remember and say)...Annie had Mitsubishi, Queenie was Lamborghini, Linda was MiniCooper and Nicole was Volkswagen. The next game was teacher names...and Linda chose Radanos (which everyone remembered)...from then on, we just kept ganging up on her...

~ Trying to keep our eyes open when faced with FLASH

~ Buying REALLY EXPENSIVE chicken fried rice from a nearby Chinese Restaurant...we used their toilets :D and took some brochures to sit on...

~ Being defensive over our individual plastic bags. We all had names for ours. Annie's bag was the BLACK one LOL...racist.

~ Giving bitchy looks at the tall people in front of us...who stood on milk cartons even though they were SUPER  TALL already.

~ Queenie checking out the "cute guy"

~ Melted Seashell chocolates...and Nicole's attempt to consume them

~ Making our way towards my house for a sleepover but screaming every minute because of cockroaches on the floor...

~ PJ PARTYYYYYYY and everyone piling on the sheets even though it was really hot

~ Falling asleep...and not bothering to watch the Sunrise.

~ Waking up the next day and playing POKER!!!

Yes, all in all, the night was a great night...despite some minor discomforts (eg heat, blisters...)
But besides that. It was night to remember.
HAPPY 2011 EVERYBODY!!

Very good blog you have here but I was wanting to
know if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the
same topics discussed in this article? I'd really like to be
a part of group where I can get comments from other knowledgeable individuals that share the same interest.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Cheers!
