The Cat who fell in love with a Flower

Alright, lots of work to do as usual! I'm seriously counting down the weeks :) 2 more!!
I'm really overworking myself. It's quite sad.
But yeah, I feel bad for abandoning my dear blog. So here's this side project I have been working on for my sister to share with you all!

It's a story I've been working on for my sister. I promised her a picture book a LONG while ago and I thought that it's about time I started working on it. Here's a draft title page roughly drawn using watercolour and black copic liners. I'm planning to finish this project by her birthday (August 27th) so hopefully I'll be able to do it!
That's all for now~!

PS: I have Katy Perry's E.T. stuck on replay XD

Busy Busy Busy

So I haven't been updating my blog or any of my other blogs. Well, that's because the semester is almost ending and we have LOTS of assignments/projects due. I've been sick myself so it's difficult coping with everything.
BUT, I promise as soon as the semester ends (1 more week!) I'll be pumping out 1 post per day. Or something like that :)
I love you all!

Oh and to compensate...
Here's a thing I did in back in high school...

The Magnificent Norse God of Thunder

So yesterday I watched the movie Thor and I must say that it's possibly the best Marvel film of all time!! I'm not really a fan of Marvel films but I have watched a lot in my days, a few examples: Spiderman was good but the sequels were pretty bad, Fantastic Four was pretty good but not enough to make me go WOW, Superman was okay, I never really got into the Batman hype and The Incredible Hulk was just ....
Nevertheless, the movie Thor was just fantastic (maybe because I'm really into mythology), the costumes were great, the CG was really awe-spiring and it's got Natalie Portman in it (one of my favourite actresses).
I won't spoil any of the film plot here because it's really worth watching it yourself. But I will post some movie stills just to nudge you into the right direction (towards the cinemas, don't download it and watch it in bad quality).

Odin with his two sons - Thor and Loki
"Only one of you can ascend to the throne. But both of you were born to be kings."
Yeah, that's a bit of a fore-shadowing right there.
Because Loki is the *** of ******
Hah. No spoilers!

Woohooooo! I swear his costume looks so much better than Superman's or Batman's or whateverman's.

The Warriors Three - Hogun, Fandral and Volstagg
Look! An asian!

"And you are an old man and a fool!"

 NATALIE PORTMAN! I mean...Jane Foster.

Thor, exiled.

Meanwhile...

Dun dun dun

Heroes are not heroes without their dame.

So there!! Not enough to convince you to hurry to your local cinemas NOW? Well, WATCH THE TRAILER!

Okay! That's all for today :)

Etude de la Beauté

Yesterday, Jess asked me if I was interested in contributing to a beauty.fashion.skincare blog. Of course, I WAS! So together to Jessica and Tanya, we started this new blog - Etude de la Beaute
Come and visit us and feel free to ask questions, contribute advice/tips we could use and of course, enjoy yourself!

Note: I will of course, be still posting beauty and fashion related posts on my own blog. But for well-structured, EXCLUSIVE material, you'll have to visit Etude de la Beaute ;)

For my latest post A Tip for those Chilly Mornings, click here.
There's already some really useful advice by Jess and Tanya to take a look at too!

One all-nighter worth of Design Models (a selection)

Yes, these are all but a small selection of the Design models I made in ONE night (of not sleeping). We were asked to create infrastructures for a city that we were exploring via Calvino's invisible Cities. I chose the city of Beersheba and here are some of my collection.

1
The Golden Lindt
Pavilion
The trio shot.
The plain version, fantasia and dark fantasia
Material: One Lindt Box

2
Hermes' Helmet
Pavilion
Inspired by the Helmet of Hermes.
Material: One postcard.

 3
Shrub
Sculptural Park Display
Shredded and spread.
Material: One $2 Shakespeare Play Book

4
Step
Material: The cover of the Shakespeare Play Book

5
The Lotus
  Material: Two paper cups

So yes. That's generally some of the ones that I took good photos of. For numbers 3 and 4, you might think that ripping apart a perfectly good book is quite...bad. But I assure you that it was already ruined when I found it :)

Anyway, that's all for now!

Surviving Design Camp

Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy.
 Not really.

At Design Camp, we learn that the key to survival is by camouflaging.

Our Design Thinking Group with our "map" model.
A map incorporating different layers of what we think makes Cockatoo Island, Cockatoo Island. We broke the island into its most basic components: Land, Space, Natural features, artificial infrastructures and machinery.
From left to right: Daniel (Industrial Design), Andy (Visual Communications), Jacqueline (Industrial), ME (Interior and Spatial), Shelley (Industrial)

Our 3D Layer Model of the Island.
The aim was to achieve a map that looks like nothing but layers on its own.
But together...

A Map.

Waiting for our presentation. The clouds brooded with us.

That night, everyone decided to get off the Island and get some REAL FOOD.
Yes, I had instant noodles for TWO DAYS (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) so it was about time I got some REAL FOOD.
Pardon the red eyes :) I didn't get much sleep!

A great shot I got of myself while attempting to take a photo. Very artistic and a little scary.

 Yes. Real food.

 Vanilla Bourbon :) Delicious!

Timer!!

We met Niah the blind Bernard. She was sooo cute! And big!

Our second task. Making musical instruments from random flotsams and jetsoms

A more detailed summary of my Cockatoo Island trip coming soon!!
