Secret to Eating Success!!

Okay :)
I'm sure most people with Asian relatives or parents (especially those of Cantonese origin) will be familiar with this. But I just learnt this officially myself not so long ago and I found that it really helped my body internally and externally =)
This sort of Food philosophy dates back a long long time ago to the times of the old emperors and their huge ward of food philosophers.
The Chinese people divided foods into a few categories based on the yin and yang and how overindulging on one specific type of food can lead to certain bodily irregulations. Of course, they also found remedies to fix these sorts of things.

Chinese Food Therapy
The Classifications

The philosophy behind the yin and yang are mostly left unmentioned but Chinese people use it everyday in their daily cooking of meals. Foods that are classified as Yang foods are believed to increase the body's heat (such as raising the metabolism) and Yin foods are believed to do the opposite.
The key to good health is to consume a balance of these two types of foods. For example, overindulging on Yang food can cause outbreaks of acne and bad breath while overindulging on Yin food might cause anemia or sickly pale complexions.
The Cantonese people in particular pay a lot of attention to this and foods were classified accordingly into smaller categories. By attempting to balance the yin and the yang, they believed it was possible for it to improve the body's conditions.

Note: Rice (perhaps Wholemeal bread) is a NEUTRAL food. This is why Asians love it so much.

Please be aware that this applies to MOST people (YinYang people). There are those, however, who are Yin by nature and consuming only a small portion of ying foods can upset their bodies. The same applies to Yang people.
Yin people can be identified as being constantly unhealthy and in order to get well, they must consume Boosting or Vigorating type foods.

Top 5 Women (who inspires me)

Okay, first of all, there's a lot of people here that you might not agree to asinspiring. Maybe they did plastic surgery, maybe they became alcoholics later in life, but that doesn't stop them from being inspiring!! For example, we all know Britney Spears and her breakdowns, but her achievements and contributions to the pop industry will never be shrouded by that. She'll always be one of the iconic pop figures of the 21st century, like Marilyn Monroe and Madonna of the 20th :D
Anyways...here they are (in no particular order).

1. Scarlett Johansson

So you might be thinking "what?! why her?!"
Well, sex symbol aside, she's actually a really successful and independent woman. She's a democrat and has even taken part in politics by campaigning for politicians.
Her work in The Other Boleyn Girl and Girl with a Pearl Earring were superb and it really showed how even while being covered from head to toe with clothing, a girl can still be beautiful and appealing.
Her classiness really separates her from all the other Hollywood stars around the place.
Her role in Iron Man 2 as the Black Widow was a change, dying her hair dark brown and wearing a skin tight Fantasic Four-ish body suit BUT with her classiness intact :D I love her, she's such a great actress.

2. Ella Chen (S.H.E)
Alright, where do I begin with Ella?
Some find her eccentric and too manly to be considered a good-looking female actress but her eccentricity is what makes her so great.
She doesn't care about how others view her outer appearance, all she cares about is how she treats others. Everyone who knows of her knows that she has a bubbly and totally-cute personality both onscreen and offscreen.
During filming, she helps and takes care of the workers there, buying them drinks, helping carry the equipments and on extremely hot days she holds the umbrellas for them to block out the sun.
Her kindness and beautiful personality makes her even more beautiful in a natural and heart-warming way and it rubs off on everyone around her.
Many stars who are famous fr being nonchalant and moody has been changed by her attitude, like Jerry Yan and Chun from Fahrenheit.

3. Angelababy

Yes, she did have plastic surgery and yes, you might think that's artificial and fake but the only reason why she had to have plastic surgery was because of some facial abnormalities.
She had to reform her mouth because of her teeth and there is nothing wrong with that, especially for a girl who's aspiring to be a model.
She has a pretty foundation and the surgery just amplified that.
But what truly makes her great is her dedication to her job. Starting out as a Hong Kong model, she has now moved to Japan and has been working there with famous Japanese brands, even appearing on the Japanese Fashion Week Catwalk. That's a really big achievement.
For a Euroasian girl like her, she has already achieved fame in China, Japan, Korea and other places around the world and remember, she's only 21.
Did I also mention that despite her fame and popularity, she has a really nice personality offstage?

4. Emma Watson
What I love most about Emma is how despite having 10million euros sitting in her bank and more to come, she still insists on staying at school. She has rejected the option of becoming a full-time actress because she felt that staying at school with her friends is one way she can keep in touch with reality (so she doesn't let Hollywood get to her head).
I think that's a really admirable thing to do.
She's so pretty, once again, in an elegant sort of way. I really like those kind of actresses, they make the world seem so much more innocent O_O
Her role in Harry Potter was a bomber :D, but she didn't let her success get to her head.
To everyone around her, she's just an average girl.

5. Ariel Lin

She's so cute O_O
Everyone thinks she's too baby-faced to take seriously but she's quite possibly one of the best Taiwanese actresses around.
She went overseas to study acting and works really, really hard.
Noteable works:
It Started with a Kiss 1/2
Legend of the Condor Heroes
Tokyo Juliet
The Fairy from Wonderland (I LOVE HER HERE)
She's such a kind soul. She has so much talent and so many faces on screen. Somehow, she's able to abandon her off-screen life completely when the camera's rolling, like she has dual personalities or something.
Some of her Behind the Scenes clips are just too funny :)

T__T Why is it that everytime I have assessments, I get sick?!
Maybe it's the stress...I dunno =(

Flies Hate Impulse Sprays

Today, I learnt something really exciting :D
Flies hate impulse sprays!!!
I was brushing my dogs today and there were heaps of flies around, so I decided to spray them with something and the only thing I had available was my Impulse Spray.
Maybe they didn't like the smell or something, but they all flew away and never came back O_O
Even the fly sprays at home didn't work this well...so there must have been something in that spray that the flies didn't like.
Ah well, all the better for me x]

Today I worked on more of my History Extension Assignment...wow, I spent the entire day doing it O_O better start on math tomorrow! I didn't know it would take this long to translate a Chinese documentary... and I'm not even finished T.T
Trying to translate the names and finding the english equivalent is really hard work! Now I sorta know how the historians feel D=

The world of EYEBROWS

Did you know there were so many eyebrow shapes O_O? I certainly didn't!
I was going through some youtube channels and I came across Michelle Phan's. It led me to her website and one of the posts on her blogs was this chart:

The chart is bigger if you click on it :D or you can just visit her site.
But anyway, so I was looking at the eyebrow shapes and the first couple are pretty good. But then I went down the list and some of the shapes started to freak me out D=
Well, first of all, look at number 12~! Japanese Geisha much?! And the weird, Dragonball-ish eyebrows look of number 13 and 14 are just too much for a girl to handle T.T

I don't even want to comment on number 15.

Then she starts talking about the no eyebrows look O_O Sort of a Mona Lisa thing. I didn't know the eyebrow shape can change a person's face so much. Look at these emoticons:

>:( (angry)
<:( (sad)
>:D (devilish)
X:( (worried)
/:p (cheeky)
)=O (surprised)
:=D (geisha)
}:-D (Salvador Dali style)

Now I can't look at people without staring at their eyebrows and deciding which of the 15 eyebrow groups they belong to D=

Untitled and Not Important

You seem like the type to love them and leave them
And disappear right after the song...

Lyrics from One Step Away - Elisa
One step away
from all I want
and I know it's all here

afraid to move
afraid to choose
afraid of my own fear

of times when I may not be strong
places were I may not belong

but I hold on
to this feeling
that stands above all feelings
tellin' me not to let go

and I live on
this feeling
the greatest of all feelings
tellin' me not to grow cold

please help me get through
and let me in you
